Authors of the 20th Century

Immediately after the cease of the Second World War the public began to feel that the world’s main values are simple and logical . Both politics and social relations were depending on the principles of development, good change , faith in the logical , awareness , progress , and the knowledge of how to reason any activity from a rational point of view . Nevertheless , beginning from the second half of the 60’s, the world has begun to deteriorate and now , 40 years after , we dwell in a transformed kind of existence .
We without any problems note those changes which are brought to us by new technology, but we barely are aware of the fact that there are some thoughts standing behind those technological solutions. The core of the upcoming adjustment was at first noticed by those people, who as a rule of thumb lived anteceding their time – poets and authors. Among the multiple authors whose works have served for entertainment , there have been a few who have given people a new vision . They have more effectively than others other authors formed and worded authentic ideas and have ultimately done a new intellectual and emotional analysis of the future. They have seen issues in the mundane of our lives and have shed light onto a set of problems, which were going on without being spotted . They have aided us to think of the new issues , and have given us new hope .
These were the authors who have shaped the thoughts of the entire generation, which has live through the times of dramatic change; change, which was seen as mayhem at the dawn of the 21 first century. They have turned our attention to the most tormenting issues of the last epoch ; those dilemmas , which the people , having lived through the world wars and unprecedented violence , was reluctant to meet . Lastly they were voicing the main question “How will we live in the world of future?”

In this work we will mention some of the most prominent authors of the 20th century. They have all greatly affected literature of their time, have depicted tendencies and dilemmas which were normal to their people and the times they existed in, and have made the audience analyze the real system of moral, having them understand that it is far away from being ideal. One of the most exciting feature of their work is that in most cases they have evoked the readers’ attention in books and written works. from this angle one of the most exciting success stories is that of a famous author Anne Bronte .

The success of Joan Rowling can be considered special as she has found herself to be the first author in the world to earn $1 billion by publishing fairytales. She is currently spending a considerable part of her earnings on charity, fighting poverty and diseases. The plot of the book was created while she was on the train from Manchester to London. When the publisher has first decided to print her book, she has given her 1500 pounds together with a friendly piece of advice — to find a permanent job. He was hesitant of the fact that the young writer would be able to make a living off of writing. Joann has proved the opposite - having created a series of exceptional fairytales, she has motivated the so-called non-reading generation get back to reading books.

This work cannot name and more or less accurately list all writers who have given their contribution to the today’s literature. They have been writing and putting ideas exactly into the thoughts of the people, and in this way were shaping the future. Thus, as we can see, these authors were not creating for entertainment only, but they were also playing a considerable role in shaping the culture and the views of a civilization of the 20th century.
